Programs & Price
Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 9:30 till 11:30 am. Optional breakfast at 9:00 am with parents. Library time from 11:30 - 11:45.
Our school calendar for 08/09 starts on 09/13/08 and ends on 04/25/09 with two semesters totaling 24 weeks. 12 Saturdays in the Fall and 12 Saturdays in the Spring. For activity plans, schedule and calendar information, please select from the left menu.
We strive to use the most popular and current material from the Danish school system. Our curriculum material includes Alletiders Dansk, Kiwi, TRUMF and Læs og Forstå from Alinea, Frilaesningsbøger from Dansk Lærerforeningens, Dingobøger from Gyldendahl and Aktivt Dansk from Alfabeta for our adult students. Our home work material is grundbøger og alfabetbøger from Forlaget Delta.
We currently provide programs for the following age groups:
- 0-3 years (Legegruppe)
- 3-4 years (Børnehave)
- 5-8 years (Børnehaveklasse—2. klasse)
- 9 years and up (3. klasse and up)
- Danish for adults
We also welcome all other ages including teens who wish to practice their Danish while volunteering at the school.
Program Overview
- Incorporate seasons and Danish traditions into fun-filled weekly theme/activity plans
- Lead by Danish teachers assisted by parents
- Encourage that we speak Danish in class
- Provide learning for children (and adults) based on individual proficiency levels where possible
- Encourage practice at home using theme/activity plans and homework sheets
- Let you check-out Danish books weekly
Legegruppen (0-3 years)
A free parent-directed get-together with little ones while older siblings attend class.
Leg & Lær (3-4 years)
We focus on fun, engaging learning during class with equal weight on fun and learning:
- We sing and listen to fun, classic Danish children’s songs
- We rhyme
- We have fun with shapes, colors, letters and numbers
- We read books
- We learn about Danish traditions
- We play Danish games
Lær & Leg (5-8 years)
We focus on fun, engaging learning:
- We read books
- We have fun learning to write and improve our Danish reading and writing skills
- We practice using basic Danish terminology for science, social study and math concepts.
- We sing and listen to Danish music
- We learn about Danish culture & traditions
- We play Danish games and may do plays
Lær så mer (9 years and up)
We focus on engaging learning:
- We practice reading and discussing books
- We work on improving Danish writing skills
- We work on Danish terminology for science, social study and math concepts
- We listen to Danish music
- We learn and talk about Danish culture & traditions
- We play Danish games

Price & Payment Options
Legegruppen (0-3 yrs) Free
Leg & Lær (3-4 yrs) $220 per semester/$440 full school year
Lær & Leg (5-8 yrs) $298 per semester/$596 full school year
Lær så mer (9 yrs and up) $298 per semester/$596 full school year
Danish for Adults $325 per semester/$650 full school year (additional book costs apply to adult class)
- A $25 school supply fee per semester applies. Supply fees are waived when school year is paid in full ($50 value).
- A $25 family discount is offered for additional family members, as well as a $25 discount is offered for securing sponsors.
- Family member number four and up are FREE.
- A 50% discount on tuition for all family enrollments, can be obtained, if an adult family member commits to being an assistant teacher for at least 6 classes per semester.**
- A 100% discount on all family enrollments can be obtained if an adult family member commits as a primary teacher (as needed).**
